Polymer Characterization Facility

The materials characterization facility has been created primarily to
serve the needs of the polymer IRG. It contains thermal analysis
equipment, FTIR , GPC with light scattering and viscosity detectors, and
other miscellaneous polymer characterization techniques.
- TA Instruments 4100 Thermal Analyser with the following modules
- 951 Thermogravimetric Analyser
- 2960 STD simultaneous TG/DTA
- 2920 Differential Scanning Calorimeter with modulated DSC
- 1600oC Differential Thermal Analyser
- Seiko Instruments Model 320 TG/DTA
- Fisons Thermolab mass spectrometer with interface to both TA Instruments and Seiko TGAs covering the range 1-300 amu.
- Perkin Elmer 2000 FTIR
- Wyatt Laboratories Light Scattering Detector
- Conventional viscometry
