LRSM Education & Outreach

For more than 25 years, the LRSM has been at the forefront of developing innovative educational programs that aim to connect Philadelphians and the broader communities to the scientific efforts and groups at the University of Pennsylvania.

The LRSM Education & Outreach programs are carefully designed to teach Material Science research, with the goal of cultivating a level of appreciation towards STEM research and careers.

Our collection of programs target multiple groups local to the Philadelphia area and nationwide, including K-12 students, K-12 teachers, undergraduate students, and the general public.

These programs are supported by staff, faculty and students from the LSRM and other University of Pennsylvania departments, offices, and programs. Additional partnerships with external organizations further supplement our educational programming and mission as a institution.
